thanks. Honestly, if your head circumfence is really 56,5, any size Medium should fit. Even though you have a different experience its a bit strange. However, I would suggest that you order M AND L together in order to compare. you can return and we refund the item. Or you try L first and if too large, we exchange into M. In general the sizing across all Bell Helmets is similar, from our experience. Hope this helps. Thank.
