BILTWELL is recalling individual Gringo and Gringo S helmets. According to a French consumer products safety agency, the affected helmets may provide insufficient impact absorption at extreme low temperatures (-20°C / -4°F). In case of a fall, the helmet may not be able to provide the necessary protection. Preventative BILTWELL recalls all helmets with special batch numbers. So if you have bought a helmet from us that belongs to one of the batches, we will take it back or exchange it (if it's in stock).
How do I find out, if my helmet is affected?
Only helmets of the Gringo or Gringo S model with batch numbers 6011, 6013 or 6070 that were produced after July 2019 can be affected. Confirm that the model name "Gringo" or "Gringo S" appears on the DOT certification label on the back of the helmet:
How can I find the batch number?
Locate the label on the chinstrap and confirm that the last four numbers are either 6011, 6013 or 6070:
