Hoodies! Everyone has one in their wardrobe! They are comfortable, keep you warm and can be combined with almost any item of clothing. With kangaroo pockets or a zip, they are simply indispensable as leisurewear.
However, they are definitely not suitable for riding a motorbike or scooter. Their base fabric, cotton, is neither abrasion nor tear resistant. And there are no protectors either. A hoodie with the highest level of protection
For the 2025 season, British manufacturer KNOX has succeeded in launching the Shield model, which it claims is the first single-layer hooded jacket with the highest protection class AAA for men and women. The main reason for this is the use of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibre, which combines maximum strength with stretchability and comfort.
In addition to extremely high abrasion and tear resistance, the Shield also comes with level 1 shoulder and elbow protectors and a level 2 back protector. If that's not enough, you can also add a KNOX Micro-Lock chest protector. More protection for the upper body is almost impossible!
Good cut and good workmanship
The manufacturer's size specifications are realistic and Shield fits snugly, but not too tightly, around the male torso. (Please note that KNOX women's sizes are sometimes very tight. Please study the size charts carefully). The texture of the hoodie looks very high quality and there is nothing wrong with the quality of the zips, cuffs, thumb loops and protector pockets, even at second glance.
It should also be emphasised that the protective function of the shield is not visible at first glance. The protectors naturally make for broad shoulders, but are not immediately noticeable from the outside and make Shield look almost like a conventional hoodie. Most riders will cope well with the two-kilogram weight, which is largely due to the protectors. The only colour currently available is black.
