The days of the solitary rider who prefers to keep to themselves are slowly coming to an end. More and more motorcyclists, both male and female, want to be reachable by phone, follow navigation instructions, or chat with others about their chosen route while riding.
German helmet manufacturer SCHUBERTH has taken its customers' communication needs into account and offers the latest generation of helmets (C5, S3, E2, J2) pre-wired with integrated HD speakers and antennas. These can be easily connected to the SCHUBERTH headsets SC2, SC2 Standard or Edge using a simple plug-and-play system.
SCHUBERTH SC2
The SC2 is currently the most advanced headset in the SCHUBERTH family and sets a new standard in motorcycle communication. The hardware consists of a main unit, a remote control, and a microphone. These three components are simply inserted into the prepared slots and connected to the helmet's cables. The software is based on technology from SENA and is managed via the SCHUBERTH SC2 app on your smartphone.
Device connection via Bluetooth
The headset can be connected to a mobile phone, GPS device, or MP3 player via Bluetooth 5.0. The headset can also be paired with up to three other SCHUBERTH headsets.
Vehicle-independent communication with Mesh Intercom™
Mesh Intercom™ is a dynamic communication system reminiscent of the old CB radio. With Mesh Intercom™, SC2 users can connect to other nearby Mesh users without the need to pair individual headsets. Users can also switch between Open Mesh and Group Mesh.
Open Mesh:
This is an open group intercom function. Users can communicate freely with each other as long as they use the same Open Mesh channel (selectable from 1 to 9). The number of possible connections within a channel is virtually unlimited. SCHUBERTH promises a range of up to two kilometers in open terrain. However, when the SC2 is used with a full-carbon helmet, the maximum range is limited to 400 meters due to the shielding properties of the carbon fiber shell. The talk time is up to 12 hours.
Group Mesh:
This is a closed group intercom function. Users can communicate freely with each other as long as they are in the same private Group Mesh group. Up to 24 users can be connected to each other in a private group.
Voice control
With the headset's voice control function, certain operations can be easily controlled by voice ("Hey Sena, turn on Mesh"). Voice recognition can also be used to control a GoPro camera hands-free ("GoPro, start recording"). Voice commands are supported in multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
SCHUBERTH SC2 Standard and SCHUBERTH SC Edge
The SCHUBERTH SC2 Standard also uses SENA technology but is simpler and does not include Mesh Intercom™. The SCHUBERTH SC Edge, on the other hand, is based on the PACKTALK EDGE from Cardo Systems®. It enables quick and easy connection to any communication system from other manufacturers.
