The American brand LOCTITE was founded in the 1950s by retired chemistry professor Vernon Krieble and his son. The basis of their business was the newly discovered “anaerobic” technology, in which a substance can harden in the absence of air in a few minutes. This technology enables metal parts to be connected, sealed and closed. Today LOCTITE is the market leader for adhesives, sealants and surface treatment. The products are used in various industries, including aerospace, automotive and microelectronics. In 1997 the company was taken over by Henkel.
